Boat tour of Seattle
Two things I'm surprised we didn't do in Seattle:
- The Pike Place Market. I'm pretty sure we were old enough for it, and probably would have enjoyed it -- if only as a multi-level playground. (Maybe the parents were afraid of that.)
- The Boeing factory. I was an airplane nut, especially at age ten. I didn't know Seattle was Boeing's HQ, or I'd have made a fuss about visitng it. Given Dad's "educator" shtik, I'm sure he could have gotten us an excellent tour.
I have checked. Both attractions were definitely there in 1951, and had been for decades. That was not the reason we didn't do it. Perhaps it was limited time for Seattle, given our weather delays in the Canadian Rockies.
